A HERO NAMED KIP

This episode shares a very recent hero story. A K9 officer named Kip helped in the search in for an 80 year old woman suffering from dementia who was lost near Joe’s Valley in western Emery County Utah. She had left after dinner to walk her dog, a chocolate lab and had not returned.

Exposed to extreme temperatures from 100 degrees during the day to as low as 55 at night, the woman was lost for 2 days before being rescued. There was tremendous concern for her safety as she was wearing only a t-shirt and slippers when last seen.

The Utah Division of Wildlife resources dispatched an officer and his K9 Kip during the search on the second night of her disappearance.

Thanks to a barking dog (guess which one) and officers, she was successfully located with some scratches and bruises, but in pretty good condition.
